MEET YOUR RESILIENCE COACH!

LaTrice "Elle" Davis first ventured out as an entrepreneur in 2009 when she was downsized from her, at the time, dream job with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. Instead of seeking a new nine to five gig, she ventured out on her own, working as an independent consultant, doing business as Elle Smith Consulting. Elle turned one of her obstacles into an opportunity and was bitten by the lifestyle freedom bug.

With over 12 years of experience in non-profit management, program development, staff training and facilitation, Elle has designed and administered numerous professional development programs over the course of her career, converted programs from idea to implementation, and served as mentor and coach to several professionals. Her client roster includes Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Illinois Action for Children, Polished Pebbles Girls Mentoring Program and Gary Comer Youth Center.

Elle graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Social Work and further obtained her master's degree in Social Work from New York University. As a trained Social Worker, Elle has always had an affinity towards people; inspiring them and helping them to see the best in their situations. This optimistic attitude was no different for Elle when she unexpectedly became a widow in 2014. Losing her husband was painful and one of the lowest points of her life. Instead of allowing that defeat to overtake her, Elle began to share her story and encourage others who were facing their own obstacles. Only six months after the death of her husband, she shares a part of her story as a co-author in a book collaboration about single parenting, "The Apple of His Eye."

Elle's current and previous board memberships include Polished Pebbles; Henry Booth House; the Chicago Urban League and its’ young professional auxiliary “Metroboard”; Jr. Board of Urban Gateways; AIDS Foundation of Chicago; and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Elle lives on the south side of Chicago with her very busy toddler daughter, Simone.
